David Acevedo, Sam Valenzuela and
Marte Mejstrik formed TEATRO VAGON in mid 2011 with the production of Sylvia Gonzalez' play BOXCAR (El Vagon), hence the name TEATRO VAGON, directed by David Acevedo, opening on July 7, 2011 at the Brava Theater Center in the heart of San Francisco's Mission.
Their second production, TWELVE ANGRY MEN by Reginald Rose, opened on January 6th, 2012 for a twelve performance run at the Brava Theater Center.
Opening next was THE EXONERATED by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen and directed by Marte Mejstrik on May 11th, 2012 at the Brava Theater Center.
Closing the season with David Mamet's OLEANNA, directed by David Acevedo, which opened on Septmeber 27, 2012, also at the Brava Theater Center.
TEATRO VAGON'S goal is to bring compelling stories to their audiences through live performances, with a focus on using multi-ethnic casting.
